Game Update: Another year, another skill, another newspost

Posted on Jan 15, 2008
general *POOF* There's summoning for you. It requires the quest Wolf Whistle to be started, which is reminiscent of good old herblore.
Seems that you can use whatever you summon for good or bad or not at all. Is this a good thing?
After stabbing the wilderness in the back, duelling PvP to the death at dawn, closing shop on the free market and effectively banning players' ability to give each other gifts (at least now Teaberry gets an excuse for forgetting birthdays and that git still has my dlegs and halberd) ... by comparison, yes. Of course there isn't much that could be worse.

And that's where I have to admit we've been slacking off a little these last few months. Personally I've been busy and a little fed up with rs like I am every hand full of months. I'm sure I'll get over it soon after all I’m still an addict.
On top of that some of us have been working on improving systems for the price guide.

Guides and calculators will be updated as we gather the data required and as it crosses our paths. You are welcome to suggest changes in this thread on the feedback and suggestions forum.

Price guide updated with exchange values

Posted on Nov 27, 2007
site Well you were promised fast ;-) Fi has honoured that by updating our database to handle the exchange prices, and we've started to add them. You'll find them included in our price guide, and I'm sure Darwin will offer them soon too. Prices change constantly, but you can help to keep them up to date by pointing out any changes in exchange prices here.

Enjoy!

Posted on Nov 13, 2007
quests With the latest quest we take a closer look at goblin religion and we have a little fun with the old concept of dyeing goblin mail, which the powers that be finally decided we can wear.

Go out adventuring with Zanik once again and find out what happens in Land of the Goblins.

As always you can post comments in the discussion thread.

Calculator Update

Posted on Sep 21, 2007
site As some of you may have noticed, the calculators have been overhauled to provide you with faster access to your highscore data. While this is the most prevalent change, keen users will notices a variety of interface tweaks and improvements. Less obvious are the efficiency enhancements, which have allowed me to add all of these features while simultaneously cutting back on the lines of code.

While most of the features launched flawlessly, I'd like to thank G3m N M, and the Runesource Team for their feedback. Should anyone else experience any difficulties, or problems, feel free to contact me through the forums or on our IRC channel. If you'd prefer, you can always send me an email at filoni@gmail.com.

Quests: Gnomes have Green Thumbs

Posted on Sep 03, 2007
quests This fine gnome quest is a follow up on the one that yielded the crystal saw.
It will take you on a tour through Gnomish history and just be glad it turned out the way it did, or else those little blighters would be poking us in the shins with their spears and things!
Anyway, we get to meet a new spirit tree which I always think is a good thing and some new monsters.
All in all good fun, but find out for yourself and follow The Path of Glouphrie.

Guide and discussion thread.

Quests: Order in the Court!

Posted on Jul 24, 2007
quests The Sinclair murder mystery was not done properly last time, and you get to redo your own investigation, with yet again no help from the local authorities.
Pretend to be a defence lawyer and rescue a king...
All in a day's work for a hero, right?
It's time to bring order to the royal court and the court of law!

King's Ransom guide can be found here and the discussion thread here.

Don't forget to unlock those new prayers after the quest.

Quests: A Fairy Tale Part III

Posted on Jun 04, 2007
quests So it's 9am and you realise you don't have a meaningless filler-quest for the week. What do you do? If you're making Runescape, you copy three well known childrens fairy tales into a crazy mixmash of a quest.

It's not that long or hard and the reward is quite a lot of xp and a practically useless hat. It's worth doing and, in places, manages to scrape the funny side of absurdity. If you need a guide, you know we've got it.

Spam!

Posted on May 24, 2007
site It's come to my attention that email pretending to be from this domain (runesource.co.uk) is being used by spammers to advertise anything from viagra to stockmarket frauds.

It is not hard to falsify the address email appears to be from as long as the domain exists and this is what is happening. I have no control over these spammers, I don't even know who they are, they're simply typing our domain name into the "Who should I pretend this message is from" box.

Random Hint

Do quests! Not only are the rewards often untradable, useful and unique, but it's practically free XP, extra time in Tears of Guthix (more free XP) and the Runescape storyline is told through quests. They've got some smart guys writing those stories and they can make some very interesting stuff.

Besides, being able to say you've done every quest is quite a status symbol.
